In this sessions we’ll dive into the full stack that delivers today’s web applications with a focus on understanding what performance metrics should be collected to enable good decision making later. Beyond what to collect, we’ll discuss how to collect it; what perspective on your data is necessary post-facto to be able to power strong decisions.

Even with the explosion of big data and the technologies to deal with them proficiently, it is intractable to store all telemetry information. Being smart and selective puts you in a better position to understand the performance of your architecture, your business and the collective experience of your users. Let’s toss out theory and focus on the brass tacks of watching what’s important.
