The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, architecturally inspired by the Temple of Amon at Karnak, houses the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on exhibit in the western United States -- including objects from pre dynastic times through Egypt's early Islamic era.
The San Jose Museum of Art presents a full range of exhibitions with a focus on works created during the 20th Century, including painting, sculpture, installations, photography, works on paper, and video. Children's Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum featuring over 150 interactive exhibits. Children of all ages are invited to test, prod, taste, crank and tinker in their striking purple building in Discovery Meadow.
Plaza de Cesar Chavez is home to year-round cultural celebrations, parades and exciting outdoor festivals. The Winchester Mystery House, on of the world's most famous mansions, is the true legacy of Sarah Winchester who it is believed thought she would never die as long as construction continued on her elegant Victorian home. The famed mansion is a California State Historic Landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a San Jose City Landmark.
Tickets for tours of the historic 160 room Victorian mansion are $19.95 for adults 13-64, $16.95 for seniors, and $13.95 for children 6-12.
